By the third day of filming, the bulk of the filming inside of the restaurant was complete. Although setbacks such as camera technical issues were a contributing factor to our group taking its time, the main reason is because we had so much fun making the video.
We managed to get the shots done outside of the restaurant on the street all on the first take. By the time we were filming for the third time, our group understood exactly what we had to do in order to be as efficient as possible.

Filming day two
We suffered a major setback on the second day of filming as we found out that our camera's SD card was corrupted. As a result, this meant that only around half of the footage we created.
This was incredibly annoying in some ways because our group had spear-headed our first day of shooting, setting a standard for the rest of the filming. When we found out the SD card was faulty it effected our motivation and focus.
However, on a positive note, we had to re-shoot a few scenes that, in my opinion, improved the second time round as we spent more time going over the shots.

Filming day one
The group arrived at the restaurant for 7PM on the first night of filming, As expected, out first day of filming was slower paced as we set out the shots we planned on using.
We did encounter a few issues on the first day such as recognising that there were too many people unrelated to our project in the immediate vicinity of the filming. This created a major distraction when trying to get everyone in the room to concentrate on one scene.
Our group, however, did manage to get a decent amount of footage filmed on our first day of shooting among the setbacks.

Update 3
While many of our inspirations for our music videos theme came from more popularised films such as "The Good The Bad and The Ugly". However, more vintage and lesser known films were also used as a source of inspiration when setting up the poker scenes in our video. Our group took inspiration from films such as "The Last Challenge", a 1967 Cowboy Western film. The film features scenes in which the characters are playing card games around tables.
We also looked at the old Cowboy Western film called, "Tall In The Saddle". This is another film that shows card games between men living in the frontier. As opposed to The Last Challenge, the film is in black and white and focuses more on shades and bleak contrasts as opposed to the more colourful film before it.Friday, 3 March 2017
Update 2
Today we worked through issues with the camera and its SD card. Due to complications, several shots and scenes have been lost from the camera and it's memory card. Because of this, some of the time that was supposed to be used shooting a performance of the song we're using was instead spent re-establishing these shots in order to re-capture the work the group had done previously.
Although we've had a setback, the music video is finally starting to look official.

Update 1
Today we did most of our non-performance/non-instrumental shots on set. We spent the majority of our time choosing which angles to use for each shot when establishing a narrative at the beginning of the music video.
The hope is to be able to perform our dance and actual performance segment of our music video and to start editing straight away afterwards.

Planning song ideas

From the beginning of the planning period for our music video our group has had several clashes in terms of musical interest. The first song that we decided to plan our video on was called My kind of woman by Mac DeMarco. This idea fell through, however, as half of the group didn't feel attracted to the song, creating a stale working environment at times.
After this there was much deliberation on what the song should be. Other ideas for songs to do where "Black Magic" by Fleetwood Mac and "Should I stay or should I go" by The Clash.
Eventually our group came to the conclusion to use the song "Should I stay or should I go". We decided on this song as it was a piece that everyone in the group could enjoy as well as prompting lots of creativity.
